SPECTRUM news from Michael Schulz

  1. A paper describing the SPECTRUM software has been published in Computers and Geosciences. Please cite the following reference if you are going to publish results produced by this program.

Schulz, M. and Stattegger, K. (1997) SPECTRUM: Spectral analysis of unevenly spaced paleoclimatic time series. Computers and Geosciences, Vol. 23, No. 9, pp. 929-945.

  2. When running SPECTRUM 2.1 on a fast computer hosting a Pentium processor it may happen that SPECTRUM refuses to work. Instead an error message appears, indicating that `Runtime error 200' occured.

This misbehavior is caused by a bug in the Borland Pacal 7.0 compiler and _not_ in SPECTRUM.

SPECTRUM has been recompiled with an updated version of the Borland Compiler. The new program is called SPECTRUM 2.1a and can be downloaded from anonymous ftp server:

    server: infosrv.rz.uni-kiel.de
    directory: /pub/sfb313/mschulz

    files: spec21ab.zip (binaries)
    cg_rprnt.pdf (manual)
