The File boutique contains a rich treasure trove of free software for all manner of data-handling techniques. It is now located in Cambridge, UK, with a mirror in Wisconsin, USA. For speed and convenience, use which ever is nearest to you. The ftp addresses are:

Wisconsin: geology.wisc.edu, directory pub/inqua

In either case, if running ftp directly (as distinct from via the World Wide Web), logon as user anonymous, with your e-mail address as password.
