• Course Content

  This Postgraduate Certificate consists of two blocks of study, the first relating to single incident trauma and the second which is useful for more complex trauma. Both blocks of study must be undertaken and attendance on all days is compulsory.

  Participants will need to have access to people presenting with the PTSD and later complex PTSD. The course will allow those students completing this PG Cert to apply to join EMDR All Ireland and if they wish to do so then move to Accredited status and on to Consultant status. Initial EMDR supervision for 20 hours will be provided for all participants completing the course.

  This short course consists of two blocks of study, the first is four days which is the Level 1 which is useful for single incident trauma and another four days which is Level 2, which is useful for more complex trauma. Level 1 and 2 both must be undertaken and attendance on all days is compulsory.

  • HSN7079 Introduction to Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR 1)
  • HSN7080 Enhancing Knowledge and Skills; Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR 2):
  • HSN7093 Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy -Supervision and Development of Professional Practice (EMDR 3)
• Outcomes

  The course will allow the participant to apply to join EMDR UK and Ireland and if they wish move to Accredited status and then Consultant status. EMDR supervision for 20 hours will be provided for all participants completing the course.  Students can elect to either exit with the award of Postgraduate Certificate in EMDR or carry credits forward into further postgraduate study should they wish to do so. For example, students may wish to complete additional level 7 modules and a dissertation to make up the credits for the award of a Masters Degree in Advanced Professional Practice.

• Selection Criteria

  Applicants must hold at least a degree for entry to Level 7 (postgraduate level) study. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements should contact the School for advice.

  International Trained Nurses/Midwives: If you hold an international qualification you will need to provide a UK ENIC Statement of Comparability. This should be obtained prior to submitting your application. You can apply for a statement through the ENIC website:  Statement of Comparability (enic.org.uk)    

  Students accessing these short courses must work in the relevant clinical area.

  Please note that these courses are not open to international applicants living outside the UK/ROI.
