Dr. David Beilman is an environmental scientist who studies climate change and other impacts on terrestrial ecosystems. Dave studies global change using various methods including plant community analysis, Geographic Information Science, and paleoscience techniques using biological and geochemical proxies. He has an ongoing interest in wetland systems, particularly their plants and soils, and has studied ecosystems in Canada, Russia (Siberia) and the European Arctic in Svalbard. Most recently he has joined the 14CHRONO Centre for Climate, Environment, and Chronology (radiocarbon accelerator mass spectrometry) in Belfast, UK, where he is studying Arctic change over the last few thousand years.
