Established in 2003, the Centre for Climate, Environment and Chronology at Queen’s University Belfast unites expertise from the Departments of Geography, Archaeology and Paleoecology, and Environmental Engineering. The Centre houses a new radiocarbon Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (14C-AMS) lab, which was commissioned in early Spring 2007. New state-of-the-art sample preparation and measurement facilities allow for fast throughput of very small samples for high-precision radiocarbon measurement. |
